You Won’t Believe How Much eSports Players Are Earning

We’re well and truly living in the age of eSports. This was clear when Drake and Travis Scott teamed up with Ninja to play a round of Fortnite last month and broke the internet.

What started as a hobby for many has turned into a highly lucrative career for those good enough to separate themselves from the rest. In 2017, the eSports industry earned $1.5 billion in revenue, a lot of which finds its way into the pockets of the highly skilled gamers that play in front of crowds professional sports teams would be envious of.

Data tracked by esportsearnings.com shows just how profitable being good at video games can be nowadays. The top 10 highest earning eSports players have earned well over $1 million each, with Dota 2 gamer Kuro Takhasomi, aka KuroKy, of team Liquid leading the pack at just shy of $3.5 million in career earnings to date.

His Liquid teammate Miracle (real name Amer Al-Barkawi) follows closely behind with nearly $3.1 million earned so far.
